Qualifying for a Non-Profit / Non-Commercial License
We offer a generous discount on iScreensaver Designer for bona-fide Non-Profit use.
Note: giving away screensavers for free as marketing/advertising does not qualify as Non-Profit. Sorry!
To qualify, you must meet these requirements:
- If you are a School or University...
- ...with fewer than 100 students, you can purchase the Non-Profit version.
- ...with more than 100 students, you can purchase the Non-Profit version for a Single Department Only.
In this case, you must purchase the license in the name of the Department.
- ...with more than 100 students and you wish a license in the school's name, you must purchase a standard Limited, Unlimited, or Site License.
- If you are not a school, and your organization has true Non-Profit status, and will not use the software for any commercial activites, or in support of any commercial activites, then you qualify.
In the United States, these organizations typically have Internal Revenue Section 501(c)(3) status.
- If you do not have Non-Profit status, you may still qualify if you are preparing the screensavers on behalf of a third party who meets the terms above and will only use the software for that purpose.
In this case, you must purchase the license in the name of the Non-Profit organization.
If you meet the requirements above, you may purchase by clicking here.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Question: My company, "XYZ Corp" is not a non-profit, but we have plans to give away the screensavers for free. Do we qualify for a Non-Commercial license?
Answer: No, because this is still supporting your for-profit business.
- Question: We are a for-profit company, but we only intend to use the screensavers on our corporate computers (i.e. we will neither give them away or sell them to the general public). Will this work?
Answer: No. A For-Profit or Commercial entity using the screensaver does not qualify for a non-commercial license.
- Question: We are a for-profit company, making screensavers for a wonderful non-profit client, do we qualify?
Answer: No, however you may register in the name of the wonderful non-profit organization. In the Comments sections, please include a link to the organization, if available, as we absolutely enjoy seeing the screensavers for the non-profits around the world. (If you have many clients, it would be more cost-effective to purchase an Unlimited license in your own name.)
- Question: I am a freelance graphics designer, working on a project for a non-profit agency. Do I qualify?
Answer: Yes, but you must register the software in the name of the non-profit agency, and you would need to purchase an additional license each time you worked for a new agency. Therefore, it may be more cost-effective to purchase an Unlimited license in your own name.
- Question: I purchased a Non-Profit license for version 2.0. Do I need to qualify again to upgrade?
Answer: Yes. Unfortunately, we have discovered that some people were abusing the system and purchasing non-profit licenses who shouldn't have. Therefore, we are requiring that all purchases, including upgrades, re-qualify. If you don't think you can qualify, you can upgrade to our Limited license.
